Our particularly strong all-rounder with hand-sewn midsole Mexico handsewn is a bespoke sandal with exceptional qualities. It can be distinguished from the slightly less elaborate Mexico models by a midsole made of strong cowhide under the cork footbed. We hand stitch this midsole with an additional second seam through the entire sole construction of the sandal.
The even higher sturdiness makes these hand-sewn sandals an excellent choice if you want the sandal to last a very long time or foreseeably call for more. For example, if these sandals are regularly used for long walks, or if the sandal must carry more weight, for example, as a stable day-to-day sandal for taller people.
Those who are often traveling in uneven terrain will also notice how puncture-resistant this sandal is, for example, on pebbles and sharp stones. The increased stiffness is very positively noticeable here.
The straps start on the inside of the foot at the ankle, then run across the instep to the forefoot and back the opposite way. The typical Mexican cross pattern provides good support to the sides and forward. Heel and instep straps – both of which can be adjusted – are interlaced under the ankle for a special accent.
The sole is slightly wider in the front area, as a result of the way the straps are attached. This reflects quite well the robust character of the originally Mexican sandal, which had to prove its durability in daily use.
